Through the support of the Elinor & T.W. Miller, Jr. Foundation, the Ashland YMCA is proud to be taking bold steps to build a better Y for the Ashland community. With their grant award, they expanded and renovated their facility to meet modern safety and ADA standards, enhanced security, and are fostering meaningful program development. These upgrades included major improvements to hallways, restrooms, family areas, and staff offices, as well as essential enhancements to lighting, flooring, parking, and accessibility.

The greatest beneficiaries of this grant are the Y members. With direct and more efficient access throughout the newly remodeled facility, members enjoy safer movement, accessible amenities, and a growing array of new programs that support health, wellness, and personal growth. The dedicated YMCA staff also benefit from better traffic flow, enhanced workspaces, and improved access to members and program areas—creating a more secure and productive environment.

The impact extends beyond the walls of the Y. The Ashland community enjoys an upgraded, aesthetically inviting facility, along with safer parking and vehicle entry. Most importantly, they have been able to partner with local organizations to further enrich the services they provide.

“As a three-decade user of the Ashland YMCA and a member of the recent ‘Y’ Capital Campaign, I wish to express my appreciation for the substantial gift from the T.W. Miller Foundation,” said Greg Gorrell. “This outstanding and much-needed transformation is a great benefit to our community and all who use it.”
