In September of 2019, Grace Medical Home expanded its commitment to provide comprehensive health care to community members with lower incomes when they moved in to their new location located at 1417 E. Concord Street in Orlando.

Growing from nearly 7,000 square feet at the former facility to 19,000 square feet at the new location allows Grace to see more patients, expand existing services and add new services in response to the needs of the community.

Along with other community partners, The Elinor & T.W. Miller, Jr. Foundation made a gift to help Grace Medical Home accomplish their expansion plans.

New services include acute and preventative dental care, physical therapy and a teaching kitchen with large refrigerated storage space. Existing services such as primary care, specialty care, mental health, social services, spiritual care, medication management and referral coordination will expand and continue to embrace an integrated approach for those often overlooked in Central Florida.

The new space features a welcome room with a praying hands ceiling design, 22 exam rooms and areas designated for medical specialties, a dedicated space to store donated medication, a prayer room to support spiritual care needs, expanded social service areas and more workspace for staff and volunteers.

Grace’s clinical team — comprised of hundreds of volunteer physicians and nurses — treats patients for an array of acute and chronic conditions including mental health, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes and orthopedic disorders.

There are more than 2 million uninsured Floridians, and about 200,000 live in the Orlando area. Since opening in 2010, Grace Medical Home has experienced rapid growth and had more than 12,000 patient visits in 2018. With the move, the organization expects to be able to significantly increase both the number of patients served and patient visits.

Offering more than medical care, Grace walks alongside patients in their journey to wellness, caring for the whole person, as it realizes its mission to be a medical home reflecting the heart of Christ by offering the highest level of health care to those in our community who need it most.
