For over 45 years, Lakewood Residential Center has filled an important void in the health care system and community. They provide management of chronic mental illness in a safe, caring and serene residential environment. Their model allows residents to receive a continuum of care throughout their lifetime.
In 2015, they undertook the large task of remodeling their main dining facilities. Due to a matching gift provided by The Elinor & T.W. Miller, Jr. Foundation they were able to construct a ADA compliant building with restrooms, update all of the kitchen equipment and create a beautiful lakeside space for all residents to dine together.
