In the summer of 2015, the WPHS Foundation engaged the City of Winter Park with a comprehensive plan to facilitate the renovation of the Showalter sports complex. The Showalter Field and Bob Moser track are home to all Winter Park High School track and field athletic programs and are vital assets to both our school and our community youth sports programs. Unfortunately, the facility had significantly deteriorated and fallen into disrepair. Months of meetings and planning culminated in a model partnership between the WPHS Foundation, the City of Winter Park, Rollins College and the Orange County School Board to resurrect this vital community asset.
Thanks to the Elinor & T.W. Miller, Jr Foundation and other partners, the Showalter sports complex is now transformed into the best high school track and field complex in the state of Florida. Completed renovations to the complex include the following:

  • Collegiate Level Turf Field Surface
  • Collegiate Level Rubberized Track Surface
  • State-of-the-Art Digital Scoreboard
  • State-of-the-Art Sound System
  • Sandblasting and Repainting of the entire facility
  • Deep cleaning and repainting of all bathroom, locker, and concession facilities
  • New fencing
